15 Hilariously Awful Songs Released In The Name Of Charity

12. Emma Bunton - Downtown

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhD4rXkV0yo Another Children In Need entry; Baby Spice gathered her Strictly Come Dancing buddies (she would eventually come third in the 2006 series) for a video that appears to have been put together by the cast themselves in-between rehearsals. Set in a hotel room, Emma starred as the maid while Carol Smilie played a burglar and ex-Emmerdale actress Claire King... well, she was another maid while Craig Revel Horwood rolled around on a bed, holding up scores. As for the track itself, it's one of those cover versions (of Petula Clark's hit) that doesn't even attempt to try something different, seeming more like decent karaoke than a new interpretation. So while it's not offensive in anyway, neither is white A4 paper. Does anybody want to buy any white A4 paper for charity? No, you'd probably rather just hand over the pennies. Still, it managed to peak at #3, which is seven places better than Spice Girls' Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) managed the following year, and Bunton's biggest hit since 2001's What Took You So Long?

Dan Bull hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
