11. Ferry Aid - Let It Be
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmieR3KvQAc Let It Be, arguably one of The Beatles' and Paul McCartney's finest compositions, was given the undeniably 80s SAW treatment for a 1987 ensemble recording. Following the Zeebruge Disaster, The Sun's Garry Bushell gathered stars including Band Aid contributors Bananarama and Boy George for Ferry Aid. The end result, however, was a cringeworthy cover that appeared to be focussed on stealing some of the thunder from the original Band Aid, which makes it even more impressive that the usually-reluctant Kate Bush makes an appearance. Even Macca didn't technically feature on the drum-machine-heavy reworking, later admitting that he's reused his vocals from the original. He's never been a great mimer! Perhaps the organisers could have thought over the song's words a little longer. Not every disaster needs a terrible soundtrack.
