15 Hilariously Awful Songs Released In The Name Of Charity

9. Artists Against AIDS Worldwide - What's Going On?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TWJZwcKmBc Released in 2001, and with politician and part-time rock star Bono at the reins, What Going On? should have been something special. Instead, it's a track that did OK in the charts (#6 in the UK and #27 in the US) but has since been forgotten. Have you heard it on the radio since it left the charts? Seen it on TV? Read about it anywhere else than a list of awful charity singles? The song, with Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and Destiny's Child among the artists against AIDS (are they implying there are artists for AIDS?) was part of an album which featured several versions of Marvin Gaye's legendary track, which had been remixed by artists including The Neptunes, Moby and Lim Bizkit's Fred Durst. So if you didn't like the first version, there were new, extended versions that you'd probably dislike even more.
