15 Insane Examples Of Rock N' Roll Excess

1. Michael Jackson's Demisemichael_jackson_55211

If ever there was a victim of rock n roll excess, it is Michael Jackson - excessive plastic surgery, excessive spending, excessive drugs. It would be the latter vice that led to his demise. Left addicted to strong pain killers after he suffered second degree burns to his head in an accident for a Pepsi Commercial in January 1984. He also began to bleach his skin and alter his appearance with cosmetic surgery. Left with oodles of money after the success of his solo career and the runaway phenomenon of his album Thriller, Jackson was left with too much money and he built Neverland - a sprawling compound with a mansion, a fair ground and exotic animals. He carried round a chimp called Bubbles with him. Jackson's name was forever smeared in 1993 by Jordan Chandler's accusations of molestation. He had to undergo a humiliating bodily search to see if Chandler's description of his genitals was correct, and he never recovered from this. He married Lisa Marie Presley but the marriage was a failure. Apparently Lisa Marie wanted to help him with his addictions. He went on to 'father' two kids with his skin nurse Debbie. He dangled third child Blanket out of a balcony in an act that would disgust the global public. There were more child abuse accusations but he was cleared of them and fled to Bahrain. He had run out of money due to his excessive and silly spending habits and had to sell Neverland. In June 25th 2009, Jackson died which came as a shock to the world but not to those in the know. Increasingly frail and dependent upon benzodiazepines and stupid amounts of choral hydrate and propofol to combat his insomnia, Jackson was a physical wreck. He had complained of insomnia the night before his death and his physician Dr Conrad Murray had fed him vast amounts of midazolam and lorazepam. When he was still awake, Murray gave him propofol, a heavy duty anaesthetic used in cases where extreme sedation is required. This heady mix of depressants went for Jackson's central nervous system and slowed down Jackson's breathing until he died. There was a worldwide outpouring of grief and recently Conrad Murray was prosecuted for manslaughter. In reality, the King of Pop was really a train wreck waiting to happen.
