15 Love Songs For Valentine's Day

7. The Moldy Peaches €“ Anyone Else But You

http://youtu.be/-N3BjVMWziE Possibly the quintessential indie love song, and possibly one of the sweetest one at that. There really isn't a lot that can be said about this song other than it really is just lovely in its perfect encapsulation of simple and honest love. It's just a song about two regular people who consider themselves ugly, use cheat codes when they play videogames, who argue, and have 'shiny happy fits of rage', and even s**t themselves dancing €“ honest to God good people; real people, just like me and you. All their foibles aside, they are very much in love, and are as in love as they've always been €“ to the point where each can't understand what anyone could see in anyone else but their partner. Aww.

6. Frank Ocean €“ Forrest Gump

http://youtu.be/s7HyAJAQuXc There was quite a bit of hubbub about this track, on account if it essentially being Frank Ocean's 'coming out' track, requiring him to release a blog post explaining his bisexuality prior to Channel ORANGE's release. None of that matters though, not really, it was brave for someone associated with the R&B and rap communities, or maybe it was clever marketing if you're more cynically inclined. Whatever though, what we have here with this track is the perfectly woozy sound of falling in love in the distance, as Ocean sings about a football player he's become besotted with, smoking copious cigarettes nervously as he watches his star player play. It's love that, as Ocean sings, is running around his mind and he knows it's love, but he's scared of what to do about this. Something anyone can relate to, regardless of their sexuality.
