15 Most Iconic Rock Albums Under 30 Minutes

5. Beach Boys - Wild Honey (23:58)

Even by the Beach Boys' standards, Wild Honey is laid back. It's an album that finds the group trying not to try too hard, since they'd recently found themselves in an un-winnable competition with The Beatles and their experimenting style. And the Beach Boys music paid the price. So with Wild Honey, the group took any and all ideas into the studio and, rather than trying to force a direction for the album, just kind of let everything play out. And the result is a beautiful mess. A lot of Wild Honey sounds like a covers collection, even though there's only one true remake in the bunch (Stevie Wonder's "I Was Made to Love Her"), but it's not nearly as off-putting as that might sound. No, Wild Honey may not be a masterpiece, but it's an obvious step forward from a band that was on the ropes at the time. A Little Taste: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xdnrzpi2rg
