8. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT_fCKkjNJ0 Gaining popularity on the strength of the melancholic, simply-strummed radio hit "Blue On Black," few people ever got to know the real Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the Louisiana-born blues guitarist with a style that made him a natural successor to Stevie Ray Vaughn and John Lee Hooker. Although Shepherd reached unfathomable amounts of success in the mid-90s for a blues musician, with his first three albums all eventually going Platinum. And so it may sound weird to consider a guy like Shepherd "underrated," but if you ask the general population to name a Kenny Wayne Shepherd song other than "Blue On Black," there's a good chance you'll be met with blank stares. Thankfully, he's still a big draw on the blues circuit and continues to release music to this day.
