15 Most Underrated Hard Rock Albums Of All Time
5. Too Fast For Love - Motley Crue
Motley Crue has garnered a well-deserved reputation as kings of the Sunset Strip. Throughout the 80's, records like Shout at the Devil and Dr. Feelgood were absolutely inescapable, with songs that had the down and dirty grit that rock and roll lives on. Though the band definitely fit into the hard rock category, Too Fast For Love was the band at their most raw and unhinged.
This record is probably the closest the band had ever come to being a full-fledged punk band, with songs like the title track having a more straight ahead aggression that you would typically find in a band like the Sex Pistols. The lead track "Live Wire" has become a fan favorite for just how furious its attack is, but the rest of the record sees the band delving into more classic rock styles like the ominous dirge of "Merry Go Round" and the power pop sound of "Take Me To The Top."
Amid all the messy production, other songs like "Piece of Your Action" show the band refining their sound into more of the sleazy rock and roll that would become their calling card. The band would have more celebrated moments down the road, but this debut proved that even at their most primitive, Motley Crue were still a band full of surprises.
