15 Most Underrated Hard Rock Albums Of All Time
2. In Your Honor - Foo Fighters
For the past few records, most people know what to expect from the Foo Fighters. As the years have gone on, Dave Grohl has refined the band's sound to include nothing but loud guitars and intense choruses that call back to the golden age of rock and roll. But who remembers when the band actually threw us a curve ball?
While the band do like to mix up the formula on each record, nowhere was it more drastic than on 2005's In Your Honor. Though the band had a huge hit with "Best Of You," a lot of people tend to sidestep the rest of this double record. Across two discs, the band shows just how much musical chops they actually have, with one half being the typical rock songs they excelled in, and the other being more mellow acoustic cuts.
Though the band could have simply picked the best of the bunch onto one disc, it's an absolute treat to sift through both sides of the band, with colossal arena rock like "No Way Back" backed with beautiful tender moments like "On the Mend." The actual stylistic changes may be separated by two separate discs, but the combination of the heavy and soft styles made for one of the most ambitious undertakings the Foos have ever attempted.
