15 Ridiculous Cover Versions That Are Better Than The Original

11. Jonathan Coulton Performs Baby Got Back

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCWaN_Tc5wo When Sir Mix-A-Lot released Baby Got Back in 1992, it became his biggest hit, going double platinum and earning him the Grammy Award for Best Solo Rap Performance. It's a staple of the karaoke scene and plenty of people have sung it, sometimes drunkenly, in bars as a result. But the most unexpected version of it to be performed came from Jonathan Coulton in 2005 as part of his Thing A Week project. He released a more mellow, acoustic version of the hip-hop hit. It turned out to be very popular, with multiple YouTube videos having over 800,000 views each. In 2013, the television show Glee also appeared to lift the Coulton arrangement of the song for use in their episode "Sadie Hawkins." He has since released the song on iTunes with proceeds from all sales going to charity.
