As depicted so devastatingly in the video for If I Die Tomorrow, every member of Mötley Crüe has demons that have followed them throughout the band's existence. Fans empathise with this. While the band may not be the best examples of role-models (to say the least...), real fans draw heart and inspiration from the bravery shown by each member when going through incredible hardships. There's Nikki's insane heroin addiction (discussed later in the list) that has haunted him throughout his life. There's Mick's aforementioned debilitating ankylosing spondylitis, which gives him constant pain. There's Tommy's time in prison, and his difficult relationships with the many women in his life. There's Vince's guilt about his responsibility for the death of Hanoi Rocks' Razzle. Whatever the media thinks of Crüe's hyper-sexed and drugged-up history, there is no denying that they have gone through Hell and back during the course of their lives. Every Mötley Crüe fan understands this.
