While this has already been mentioned, the term "Maggot" is such a key part of Slipknot fandom that it is impossible not to talk about it again. The band created the term to affectionately refer to their legions of followers, and have subsequently done everything possible to communicate with and include their fans in aspects of their output. Perhaps the clearest example is the song "Pulse Of The Maggots" from "Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses", which is a rallying cry for all of Slipknot's fans and a strong statement about the high esteem in which the band holds them. Slipknot do not just consider Maggots to be their fans. They share a symbiotic relationship in which the band takes just as much energy and aggression from their supporters as the fans do from them. In other words, every Slipknot fan knows that if they are true "Maggots" they are more than just followers of the group. They are a key part of the band's existence.
