16 Things Only Disturbed Fans Will Understand

11. The Guy Is The Best Mascot Since Iron Maiden's Eddie The Head

Directed by Todd McFarlane (Spawn's creator), Disturbed's cover of Genesis' fantastic Land of Confusion remains a turning point for the band. Right away it was clear they were comfortable experimenting with various genres and applying their signature sound to whatever they fancied - and it also marked the first time The Guy was used in a full-length animation. He justifiably sky-rocketed to the front of their PR materials, became the main focus of the following albums Indestructible and Asylum, and remains the coolest-looking creation since Iron Maiden's Eddie the Head. Disturbed had previously put together what many fans now have as a tattoo in Believe's multi-cultural logo, but when The Guy arrived, all cloaked in shadows and chains, his eyes burning with purely righteous metal iconography - it was off to the races all over again.
