The 1975 are nothing short of a phenomenon.
From humble beginnings - well, not that humble, as Matty Healy is the son of two successful actors - to international chart-topping sensations, the group are set to release their fourth studio album, Notes On A Conditional Form.
The band's image and musical style has changed many times since their first major release in 2013. From your bog-standard indie dreamboys to satire-infused political rants, their music has been all over the place and back again and their fans have lapped it up.
The release of this new album has been plagued with delayed releases, cover art changes, and the small matter of a global pandemic, but, by all accounts, it's just as good as the rest.

10. Chocolate
A large part of the joy of The 1975 is watching their evolution and a good place to start is the ultra-poppy "Chocolate".
Taken from the group's first album, "Chocolate" was the first 1975 track to break into the UK top twenty, giving the mainstream their first taste of the group.
The song's title is actually a euphemism for cannabis and tells the story of a group of young friends fleeing the police with a stash of drugs in their car.
The track pays homage to classic gangster movies with lines like "we've got guns hidden under our petticoats" and conjures wonderful imagery of a group of rag-tag teens evading the long arm of the law. We've either all been there or all wished we've been there.
Even though the band's style and lyrics content has changed radically since this song was released, "Chocolate" remains a firm favourite amongst the 1975 faithful. Despite the fact that nobody who wasn't born in Manchester could understand what they were saying.
