20 Most Annoying Songs Of The New Millennium

11. Kate Nash €“ Foundations

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryH5cga0yUI Kate Nash proves that you don't need dreary metaphors or wistful proclamations ('You said that I must eat so many lemons because I am so bitter/I said I'd rather be with your friends mate cos they're much fitter') to effectively express the pitfalls of love. This misleadingly upbeat kitchen sink tune about a failing relationship was never off the radio back in 2007, making it - like many others on this list - a victim of overplay. Which has largely contributed to the cementing of its 'irritating as all hell' status. Disregarding the mockney accent, Foundations - as pop songs go - really isn't that bad. Though most of us have heard it so, so much that we'd rather go and eat a bunch of lemons ourselves than get it stuck in our heads.

10. Shaggy €“ It Wasn't Me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g5Hz17C4is Shaggy made a comeback in 2001 with It Wasn't Me, a song which appears to advise us to deny all knowledge for unfaithfulness, even when caught in the act by simply claiming, you guessed it, 'it wasn't me.' Foolproof! This, of course, is exasperating in itself, but 'It Wasn't Me' is actually an earworm and a half. Listen to the above track and you will be playing it repeatedly on your internal boombox for the next few days, no doubt humming it aloud as well; because where's the fun if you can't infect everyone else around you too, right? Actually, no. Please don't do that.
