14. Lovers In The Cold (Walking In The Street)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jjytiY1LXo Another 70s Bruce song that mentions Janey and Billy, Lovers in the Cold was very seriously discussed for inclusion on Bruce and The E Street Band's 1975 masterpiece Born to Run but didn't quite make it. It's similar to Thunder Road and the album's title track in both content and form. Bruce had wanted to include Lovers in the Cold (original title, later referred to as Walking in the Street) on the Tracks box-set but couldn't locate the master tape, conceding that it had probably been recorded over. A few studio takes are in circulation, though, and they're a joy to listen to.
