After releasing his critically acclaimed mixtape Acid Rap in 2013, fans were clamouring for more Chance The Rapper content. Of course, they got it in the end but they probably didn't think it would come in the form of Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment.

As one of the hottest rappers in the game and a key member of the eclectic collective, all eyes were on the group from the get go. However, with the release of Surf, their first studio album, the group proved they were more than just a side project but someone people should be paying attention too.

Firstly, the actual music they've made for Surf is outstanding. The eclectic collective have meshed hip hop, soul, and even gospel music together to create a really cool amalgam of musical genres that sit perfectly together. Erykah Badu, J.Cole and Busta Rhymes among others provide some memorable guest sports on the album too, making it an even more worthwhile listen.
