20 Best Hard Rock & Heavy Metal Albums Of 2016
11. Dead Label - Throne Of Bones
The heaviest thing to come out of Ireland since the submarine (seriously, look it up), Dead Label truly outdid themselves this year with Throne of Bones, the eagerly-anticipated follow-up to their 2013 debut, Sense of Slaughter.
This new album is easily superior to their first in almost every conceivable way, especially in regards to the sweltering riffs.
While Sense of Slaughter wasn't exactly sloppy when it came to the strings, it's difficult to deny that the guitar-work on such new tracks as "Salvation in Sacrifice", "Throne of Bones" and "Exhume the Venom" is anything but perfect, mixing thrash with groove metal to give the instrumentation both speed and the ability to launch anybody into a flurry of long, deep head-banging.
They might not be a big name in metal, but make no mistake: Dead Label has pumped out some of the best guitar riffs of 2016.
