20 Best Metal Albums Of 2017 (So Far)

11. Uneven Structure - La Partition

La Partition is the first album by French progressive metallers Uneven Structure in six years.

Six. Whole. Years.

And given how saturated the modern metal scene is, you may as well take take that six and multiply it five-fold, at least, due to how quickly most fans are able to move on and discover new, more "exciting" bands.

However, La Partition is an inalienably biting comeback, wreaking havoc with an hour of extreme, experimental goodness, punctuated by machine-gun guitars and guttural growls, while also possessing more sombre and hard rock-inclined portions as well.

With its magnum opus "Incube" as its ace on the hole, La Partition is a complex beast for fans of all forms of progressive metal, from Dream Theater to Gojira and everything in between.
