The Roots have all the hallmarks of a great hip hop group. A truly dope rapper, great production and they consistently put out solid albums. However, the thing that differentiates them the most when compared to other hip hop group is that they are incredibly great live music act. Drummer Questlove leads the band with his smooth drumming skills and Black Thought provides some of the most underrated lyrics in hip hop along with a number of other incredible musicians pushing the sound of hip hop to new levels.
