Sometimes the best of groups have horrendous break ups. However, it would be hard to find one who have had a worse split than EPMD. The New York-based dynamic duo featuring rapper/producer Erick Sermon and PMD were hip hop heavy hitters during the mid-80s and early 90s, releasing classic albums like Strictly Business, Unfinished Business and Business as Usual. However, things were not all good in EPMD land. In fact, the two broke up in 1992 when Sermon allegedly hired some burglars to rob PMD's house. Not the type of thing you'd expect from a group who seemed solid as rock. Although the two got back together and have put out a few more albums together they've never really created the same sort of magic they did back in the day. Despite this, for what achieved in hip hop's early years they're still considered one of the best ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUGisre9xNU
