14. The Geto Boys
*No images on system* There was something incredibly cool and strange about The Geto Boys that made them such a loveable act. If you were to see a picture of the group, you wouldn't think they were gangsta rap pioneers.However, the music they created helped influence a whole generation of gangsta rappers. West coast rap artists are considered the creators of gangsta rap, the Geto Boys represented the south in that sub-genre of hip hop. Neither Bushwick Bill, Willie D or Scarface held back with their lyrics and were certainly some of the most hardcore lyricists on the scene. Their albums Grip It!
