20 Greatest Punk Albums Ever Made

13. The Clash - Give 'Em Enough Rope

Any punk rock countdown list is simply incomplete without at least one mention of The Clash. As the first of two albums from The Clash to appear in this list, 'Give 'Em Enough Rope' was released in 1978 and was the band's second studio album.

Running for ten tracks, 'Give Em Enough Rope' includes some of The Clash's most underrated songs such as 'English Civil War' and 'Last gang in Town'. However, the depth of the record goes far beyond these two songs, with other treasures such as 'Tommy Gun' also making impactful appearances.

Critically, this is among The Clash's most successful records from their surprisingly short recording careers. Upon its release, this album peaked at #2 in the UK Albums Chart and even broke into the Billboard top 200, an achievement that is almost unheard of for punk records.
