Light My Fire 7. Back Door Man 8. I Looked at You 9. End of the Night 10. Take It as It Comes 11. The End The Doors debut is home to some of their most recognisable and popular songs. "Break On Through", "Light My Fire", "Alabama Song" and "The End" are so blissfully familiar they feel like a warm hug on a cold day; comforting and endlessly timeless yet strangely ice-cold in their organ-led delivery, with disparate roots so varied they only echo the thrillingly random nature of the album's 11 tracks. In Psychedelic Rock terms the record remains the pinnacle of what can be achieved, and has proven to be insanely influential. Talismanic crooner and poet Jim Morrison was the lizard-tongued frontman; a counterculture icon who revelled in his sex god image. He was reckless, with an unparalleled stage presence, prone to improvisation and accompanied by an air of barely-subdued menace. The Doors were not just a one-man band though, they honed their craft through endless gigs at the Whiskey a Go Go night club becoming a band of four unique individuals unafraid to experiment, unbound by youthful exuberance and fearlessly charting new territory into areas of Rock n' Roll yet to be explored.

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
