20 Jay-Z Songs You’ve Never Heard

18. Jay-Z - Reach The Top

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XxiiiLQwCI Released two years prior to his debut album, Reach The Top really showcases the talent and ambition he showed at a young age. "I came up far so brothers can know my name. I paid so many dues now I'm looking for change. Too many years wasted. Too many years on the set seeing the flavors but I never did taste it." Jay further boasts: "I scheme like a coke fiend. Keep brothers awake like codeine. Cuz when you sleep I dream. Deep right? Brothers better sleep light." This is Jay-Z in his purest form. Before the millions of dollars but probably after leaving the streets (somewhat) alone. "I gotta reach the top before I'm done with it. So much hard work now its time to have some with it."

17. Da Ranjahz Feat. Jay-Z - Event Horizon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV6bD8MsMJs During the mid-90s Brooklyn New York birthed its fair share of memorable MC€™s. However, one group that never seemed to really get the recognition that they deserved was Brooklyn duo Da Ranjahz (consisting of MC's Wais P, J Runnah and H.A.P.H.). Despite the fact that they appeared on Jay€™s highest selling album to date (Hard Knock Life, which went five times platinum) and was signed to Hova€™s Carter Faculty imprint through Roc-A-Fella Records, the pair never really took off like they probably should have. The two eventually parted ways but not before they made a half dozen tracks with Jay (which you€™ll see more of further in the list) and a bunch of other notable artists.
