20 Most Underrated Hard Rock Songs Of All Time
17. We Will Fall - The Stooges
The Stooges are the reason that hard rock exists today. If it weren't for these Detroit misfits gracing us with their feral noise, everything from punk rock to hardcore music would be in a much different place. Though the band was all about 3 minute songs that hit like a sledgehammer, the band's debut had a much more ominous track lying within.
After the manic energy of "I Wanna Be Your Dog," "We Will Fall" is one of the darkest meditations that has ever come out of the rock sphere. With a primitive instrumental section, the track is dominated by a monk-like chant instructing us to run. As Iggy Pop makes his entrance, the sonic landscape of the track becomes much more disconcerting. It could be a drug den or a journey into the abyss, but the chants are too enticing to look away.
Iggy's almost-apathetic tone of voice also puts you on edge, as if he doesn't care whether you walk out of this disturbed seance in one piece. By the time we finally come to a stop, the track's ten minute runtime has put you through an emotional journey that you won't soon forget. Plenty of hard rock fans have ventured inside this track, but you become a changed person once you make it to the other side.
