2. Travis Is The Single Greatest Drummer Of All Time

However when it comes to playing music, it€™s no secret that Travis is in a league of his own. Mark rocks on bass and Tom is great on guitar, no question. But it€™s Travis who is the man of the hour. He can play whilst spinning three-sixty on a rotating platform in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans. He played with a broken arm for three weeks before the problem was discovered and went on to play one-handed on tour with +44 (hands up, who remembers how awesome that was?). He's well-known amongst critics for being a skilled drummer, but it takes a real fan to fully appreciate his virtuosity, to see him live going all-out, night after night. He is technically incredible. His handwork is amazing, he€™s ingenious at crafting new beats and he doesn€™t use or need the double bass pedal like a lot of his metal counterparts because he can kick that fast with just the one.

They€™re like the music industry€™s version of Robert Downey, Jr. They€™ve got a healthy dose of immaturity and arrogance, and you love them for it. Hearing that opening chord slide down at the start of All the Small Things can transport you back to your youth, filling you with energy and making you feel young again, and not just the bittersweet nostalgia of wanting to feel young again, but actually doing so. They€™re a perfect choice to headline Reading and Leeds, and if you€™ve not already made plans for the Bank Holiday weekend, make sure you don€™t miss their set on the TV if you can€™t make it out to one of the festivals.
