Very soon after blink-182 went on hiatus back in 2005, Mark and Travis were starting to write new music for what would become the epic album, When Your Heart Stops Beating. It had the same spark-and-energy blink, but with an altogether different feel. It was new, and everyone wanted more. When blink got back together following the tragic plane crash that took four lives in 2008 and left only Travis and Adam Goldstein / DJ AM alive, the bands second album was put on the backburner, plunging members into same kind of hiatus blink had been in just years prior. Whilst Tom has still been making music with Angels & Airwaves since blinks reformation, the long-awaited second +44 album remains unfinished, and you can only hope that Mark and Travis might one day get back in a studio with Shane and Craig and see what could have come next.
15. You Learned The Words Enema And Urethra Through Music Not Medicine
A part of their charm has always been the immaturity. Not many bands would be willing to put enema into an album record, and even fewer would include urethra anywhere near their music. But blink of course isnt just any band, and these guys are so good at keeping things light and fun, leading to 1999s Enema of the State, 2000s live album The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back!), and documentaries The Urethra Chronicles and The Urethra Chronicles II: Harder Faster Faster Harder. If your mind doesnt instantly go to Mark sitting down on the stage with his pink bass to play Carousel live off Harder Faster Faster Harder, you dont know what youre missing out on.
Movie / TV enthusiast with a DVD and Blu-ray collection bigger than I'd care to admit. If anyone is offering creative / furniture solutions to house them, I'm all ears.
