21 Best Punk Albums Of The 21st Century
8. Slaves - Are You Satisfied?
Musical duos are surprisingly common in the British alternative and indie circles. Some of the most notable acts who fall into this category include The White Stripes, Bob Vylan, Nova Twins, The Black Keys, Royal Blood, The Virginmarys and Tunbridge Wells' Slaves.
Formed by Isaac Holman and Laurie Vincent in 2012, Slaves quickly earned a formidable reputation in the South East's punk scene, then spread their wings across the entire UK. Pre-album single 'Where's Your Car Debbie?' captured the scene's imagination, but Slaves didn't show their full potential until 'Are You Satisfied?' became their debut album in 2015.
Led by the modern punk rock anthem 'The Hunter', this album went on to enjoy blistering success both critically and commercially. It peaked at #8 in the UK albums chart and has been followed by two other studio albums, which also reached the top ten of the UK albums chart.
In December 2022, Slaves announced that they would be changing their name to Soft Love, as the old name no longer represented their music or them as people.
