21 Best Punk Albums Of The 21st Century

7. Gallows - Orchestra Of Wolves

Making his second and final appearance on this list is the one and only Frank Carter. Previously earning a mention through his debut album with Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, we wind the clock back a few years as we delve into the brash, harsh reality of his first band, Gallows.

Formed in Hertfordshire in 2005 by Laurent Barnard and the Carter brothers, Gallows wasted no time at all when it came to showing their worth. In 2006, they officially debuted with the ferocious, volatile and restless 'Orchestra of Wolves'. The phrase 'gamechanger' gets thrown around quite lightly in the modern scene, but this groundbreaking album is certainly worthy of that title.

'Orchestra of Wolves' completely re-ignited the then overlooked British hardcore scene, smashing its way into the UK album chart and earning international recognition in the process. However, Frank Carter departed the band in 2011 and was replaced by Alexisonfire's Wade MacNeil. Gallows themselves disbanded in 2015, but mounted a comeback in 2018. However, they have not released any new material since they reformed.
