Even if you generously bestow the label on yourself, being accepted as the Ambassador Of The Blues is no small feat, and it's entirely unquestionable that anyone would challenge BB King's claim to the throne.

Before King, guitars weren't played the same way, and it is perhaps because of his infamously close relationship with his guitar - Lucille - that he was able to craft such a personal, almost personified sound. He's never innovated since he developed his iconic style, but why would he?
