25. Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News (2004)

good_news_for_people_who_love_bad_news_CD_largeNotable Tracks: The World at Large, Float On, Black Cadillacs Alright, so I know some of you might be thinking, "what the hell? We begin with Modest Mouse?" Let me explain. First of all, Modest Mouse is a quirky, almost annoying band that effectively and inexplicably allows your mind to imbibe all of the strange music notes, languid-sounding vocals, and perceptive lyrics. Modest Mouse is the type of band you'll either love or hate. My best advice for new listeners: begin with this album, select the notable tracks I mentioned, and formulate your opinion. If anything, the music may soothe you, and if you're the type of listener who enjoys catchy, yet quirky lyrics, you may be on the right track!

Hello there! I'm a graduate of FGCU (A.K.A. Dunk City!) I'm currently working on an M.A. in English Literature at Hofstra University. I'd like to eventually pursue either a M.S. in Business Administration or a Ph.D in Old English and Medieval Literature. I do thoroughly enjoy studying Old English for some mysterious reason. In my spare time, I try to keep up with well over a dozen television shows simultaneously, I frequent the local theaters, and I am an avid sports or FPS video gamer. Some of my favorite TV shows include: Dexter, The Office, X-Files, Homeland, and The Sopranos. Some of my favorite films include: The Usual Suspects, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Fight Club, and Goodfellas.
