http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ_nw0F-wIo Artist: Radiohead Album: 'OK Computer'Year: 1997 For a band considered "depressing", Radiohead have written some fairly positive lyrics; they even named a song 'Optimistic'. 1997's 'Lucky' in many ways encapsulates the "Upbeat Yorke" that surfaces every now and then: it's a song with a soaring message that "It's gonna be a glorious day" despite imagery of an air crash. It's a complex mix of feelings: the light-headedness of believing anything could happen today is blended with the fragility of the past, and this is reflected in the bursts of Floydian guitar, like rocket launches in a '60s sci-fi movie. It's one last blossom of grandiosity before 'OK Computer' winds down with 'The Tourist', and it's not only a fantastic song, it's very, very Radiohead.
