The first release on this list is taken from the "new breed" of grime MCs and producers that are taking the genre by storm and pushing it in exciting new directions. It may not be a full-length, but 1 Sec displays the skills of undoubtedly the most talented young MC to emerge from the scene in a long time: Novelist. Novelist may be young, but he displays genuine intelligence and wit in his lyrics. He is able to match the weird and experimental textures created by producer Mumdance (especially on the incredibly popular single Take Time, released in 2014), and has been working with several very high profile musicians such as Jamie xx. He's even an exceptional producer in his own right, having put out one EP of instrumentals and produced his massively-anticipated forthcoming debut album. Novelist is the future of grime, and his awesome appearances on Channel 4's music show Four To The Floor are a testament to his abilities.
