5 Bands That Could Be The New Dillinger Escape Plan

If Destrage's Are You Kidding Me? No. is the sleeper hit of the past few years, then ETID are the sleeper band. On the verge of entering their second decade as a group, Keith Buckley and co. are on an earth-shattering run of albums. Beginning with 2001's debut Last Night in Town, the band have produce hit after hit of southern-tinged metallic hardcore.

Whilst not necessarily as "mathy" as others this list or indeed Dillinger, ETID find themselves on the side of Converge's "hardcore but played really bloody quickly"-core.

Having cemented their roots in metalcore with sophomore Hot Damn!, the quintet have experimented with their sound throughout their career, blending alt metal, screamo and fully embracing their southern rock and producing southern and sludge metal affairs.

The ultimate party-punk rock outfit, they are criminally underappreciated for a group knocking out consistent 8/10 albums.

Last year's Low Teens, which even had a guest spot from Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie, shows no signs of the boys letting up. If the inclusion of Mr. Urie makes you nervous, then you'll be happy to learn that they've also collaborated with Matt Caughthran from The Bronx, Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage and Light the Torch fame, and even TDEP's own, Greg Puciato.
