3. The Killers - T In The Park
There aren't many as sentimental as Brandon Flowers and the Killers. And this romance culminates in the UK. The evidence for this is clear to see: the Las Vegas rockers are releasing a "Greatest Hits" record to coincide with the anniversary of their first ever gig on British isles. They even wrote a one off song for their headline shows at Wembley earlier in the year - wittingly entitled "The Wembley Song". This pattern continued emphatically up in Scotland. The Killers undoubtedly looked over the moon to be there. Brandon paced the stage until his shoes tattered. He had a beaming grin on his face as he belted out the classics and the new. One of the highlights came in the form of a cover. Brandon revealed that he and guitarist Dave Keuning have a connection with the Scots: they performed a song by the Scottish band Travis in a small cafe the first time they played together. Despite the so-called "connection" not being the strongest of ties, the band's burst into Travis's hit "Side" was a crystallizing moment. It summed up what they are about.
