5 Good Albums With Terrible Covers

1. David Bowie €“ The Next Day

The Next DayThe Album €“ Bowie's back! His first album in ten years is still riding a wave of overwhelming goodwill, but I suspect that we'll still find a lot to love once the buzz of the new has died down. The first six tracks provide an uninterrupted flow of staggering brilliance, and after that you'll find a relentless barrage of fascinating lyrics, indelible hooks and such dazzling songwriting as makes you question the notion that rock music is a young person's game. The Cover €“ Words fail me. I can only assume that the designer had a few too many whilst celebrating landing the new Bowie album cover gig. He collapsed into a stupor and came round just hours before the deadline. With no time to arrange a photoshoot, and with nothing but MS Paint at his disposal, he did what he could. What a shame, then, that what might prove to be the best album of 2013 might also boast the worst cover. So there you go. What covers do you find repulsive? In keeping with the theme of the article, I request that you only share terrible covers from albums that you quite enjoy listening to.
