5 Greatest Bounceback Albums
2. Noel Gallagher - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
In 2009, it had finally reached the end. After a disasterous gig in England, the Gallagher brothers came to blows and realized that they just couldn't work together anymore. After making masterpiece albums and almost 2 decades under their belt, Oasis was no more.
Then, out of the blue, Noel Gallagher stepped forward in 2011 with his first solo album under the name Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. What the fans were met with was the best Oasis that never was. From ballads like "If I Had A Gun..." to the anthemic "Everybody's on the Run," this album has the Oasis magic with subtle tinges of baroque rock.
After being the main songwriter and guitarist, Noel stepped up as quite a commanding presence as a frontman on this record. From back to front, Noel sings his material with a sense of conviction that seemed to be missing from the final Oasis albums. While it didn't necessarily have Liam's quintessential bite, Noel's voice ended up suiting the material incredibly well. Instead of settling into content retirement, this record helped show the fans that Noel still had more than enough gas in the tank to be a prolific solo artist.
