5 Guitarists That Could Replace DJ Ashba In Guns N' Roses

3. Robin Finck

In the eyes of many fans of GN'R's post-Use Your Illusion lineups, Robin Finck was THE most important member after Axl Rose. Employed during the late 1990s after Axl developed a love of Nine Inch Nails (with whom Finck was the live guitarist), Finck's surreal cybergoth image and quirky, imperfect playing style granted the band an unpredictability that clashed wonderfully with the perfectionism of its leader. He's divisive, with many hating his treatment of Slash's classic solos, but he certainly made an impact. GN'R had always thrived on imperfection, with its drunken or stoned classic members' frequent live mess-ups giving them a reputation as a gang of punks. Finck's oddness continued that respected reputation for a DIY approach, even as Chinese Democracy became a huge budget affair. He has been in and out of the band on several occasions over the years, leaving in both the early and late 2000s, so his reliability is an issue. However, Axl clearly liked his playing enough to welcome him back more than once - could it happen again?
