5 Reasons Why You Should Be Listening To The Interrupters

4. They Really Are Taking Back The Power

Again, this isn't merely a song title - The Interrupters protest "No racism, no sexism, no homophobia, no bigotry - period" at every gig! They are a band for the people.

Not only have the Interrupters Got Each Other, but they want all of us to know that we can rely on them too. The true meaning of punk for the California rockers is inclusion - and that's no more prominent than with hit anthem Take Back The Power.

Before every live performance, guitarist Kevin Bivona grabs the microphone and, well, it may as well be a megaphone. "This next song is a protest song!" - and it sure is. Bivona proclaims that there's no room for any racism, any sexism, homophobia or any bigotry period, before blasting the punk anthem that was responsible for thrusting the band into the limelight.

The lead single from the band's self-titled debut album was featured in several commercials and, more fittingly, Michael Moore's documentary Where To Invade Next - featuring in the movie and the end credits.
