4. Download - Donnington Park
Download festival has always been unique. Yes, we all know its an alternative/ metal festival which some of you may frown upon, however there are little to no other festivals to rival it. The collapse of Sonisphere (UK) in 2012 and 2013 has been the only other festival which could potentially showcase the headliners of the same genre. With Sonisphere out of the picture recently and possibly forever due to not being able to obtain headliners, Download is the UK festival ambassador for metal. Those who attend say its a 'festival for life' - meaning that it's usually the one and only festival people often choose to go to. If the headliners arent too strong, which generally can happen year to year, these individuals tend not to go to any other festival, hence their strong reputation as one of the leading UK festivals. Headliners include Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Rammstein. When was the last time you saw any of these acts headline a UK festival? Not in a long time.. Chances are tents will be overflowing with moshpits. Weekend camping tickets cost £195.
