4. The Reflektive Man... And His House
The 'reflektive man' makes his debut appearence in the music video at about 1 minute 15 seconds, standing at the side of the road, as Arcade Fire's truck drives by. Just before the 2 minute mark we see him emerge from his...urm, reflektive house and walk across a darkened field, whist being saught out by giant headed Arcade Fire. The reflektive man's prescence in the video then digresses to pretty much wandering around while light is reflekted off him, and weilding a wooden umbrella. What does he represent? Perhaps he is the personification of 'Reflektor'? Certainly, whilst wearing that suit, that is the impression he gives off. Why Arcade Fire's large headed dopplegangers seek him out also remains a mystery, but for now we can just take The Reflektive Man as he is, and accept him as a perculiar part of this music video. Who knows, maybe it was Bowie under there?
