1. Win Butler's Face
No, I'm not just talking about Win Butler's usual face, I'm talking about THAT face (see above). Without warning, right at the end of the video, as Win and Régine step into a warehouse and the door closes, we get a quick shot of Win Butler's 'new' face. The face looks plastic, almost like a doll, reminicent of the scenes earlier, where the large headed members of Arcade Fire disposed of various dolls. It also links back to this idea of the 'reflektor' the whole theme of the song, almost like this is Win Butler's 'reflektor'. The hair and posture does not match that of the shot of the back, so where does it come from? And is that even Win? The answers are generally unknown, but one thing is for sure; this is the weirdest, most unexpected moment in the music video, for catching the audience by surprise, and leading us to wonder what we have just seen.
