Of all the albums on this list, Godpeed You! Black Emperor's sophomore effort is simultaneously one of the least known and most critically lauded. Regarded by internet blogs such as Pitchfork and The Needle Drop as a pioneering masterpiece, its highly experimental sound can easily intimidate newer listeners. However, beneath the sonic walls of noise - or perhaps because of them - exists an LP of immense power.
