50 Red Hot Chili Peppers Songs Never Released As Singles That Every Fan Must Hear

35. Bob

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72T4Xce8-x0 Album: One Hot Minute (1995, iTunes Bonus Track) Originally recorded as part of One Hot Minute, Bob was released as an iTunes Bonus Track, not even released as a B-side to any of the album's five singles. As well as Frusciante's guitar skills are demonstrated on many songs in this list, Bob shows Navarro's ability to hold his own in comparison. Bob's lyrics tell the story of Bob and his girlfriend who went to jail for stealing money to buy gasoline, lamenting the loss of Bob to the world. Although it may have a deeper meaning, Bob remains one of the few Red Hot Chili Peppers songs to tell a direct story without any need for further interpretation or knowledge of the song's context.

34. Even You Brutus?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hJqNlGGQg4 Album: I'm With You (2011) Even You Brutus marks a return to Kiedis' rap-singing in 2011's I'm With You, including a major incorporation of the piano to the band's lineup to deliver a powerful and melodic song about love and betrayal. During the hiatus between Stadium Arcadium and I'm With You, Flea continued to work at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, which he had co-founded in 2001, and learned to play the piano (adding to the bass guitar and trumpet), leading him to use one to aid the composition of songs for I'm With You, and the final inclusion of the instrument on songs such as Even You Brutus.

33. Purple Stain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2HirOvyqi4 Album: Californication (1999) Purple Stain is a rare return to the Chilis' funk origins in Californication, also giving Kiedis an opportunity to use his versatile voice to good effect by neither quite singing nor rapping the monotonous verses. The song is split into two main parts of the verses and the chorus, each with their own individual musical styles, making Purple Stain a compound hit of the monotonous rap and the more musical chorus followed by the classic Frusciante solo to complete.

32. Blood Sugar Sex Magik

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5bCMLIA5Fk Album: Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991) Blood Sugar Sex Magik's eponymous track features repetitive but catchy beats and riffs throughout to give it a continuity not found in many other songs from the album. Kiedis drawls the lyrics to add to the generally downbeat feel of the verses contrasting with the high-energy chorus that plays out until the end. The song was not written or recorded with the intention of being a particularly important track on the album, and only ended up the titular track because the band decided that it was the best title they had at the time, making Blood Sugar Sex Magik one of the five Chilis albums to share its name with a song.

31. Porcelain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61ScLjYlDKU Album: Californication (1999) As Californication's slowest and most mellow track, Porcelain is the audio equivalent of being slowly rocked to sleep in a hammock, delivering the only Red Hot Chili Peppers song that could be called a lullaby, although it would be one of the most difficult to decipher lullabies out there. The song sits between two heavy tracks, Easily and Emit Remmus, to round Californication into a full album, demonstrating the whole range of the band's musical styles at the time. Inspired by a young woman Kiedis met at an addicts meeting, the song encapsulates the love Kiedis saw between the woman and her baby daughter.
