30. Lately
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQpku1TVVGg Album: Dani California (2006, B-Side) Short and sweet - Lately doesn't bother with having any distinguishable intro, the song immediately launches into the solid base on which it stands for the first half before reaching the equally solid chorus. Coming with no frills, it starts and finishes bluntly and effectively. As the final B-side on the list, Lately was also included in Stadium Arcadium - Venus, which served to further fill out the library of Chilis songs from the Stadium Arcadium era, the final album to include Frusciante on guitar. It has been reported that By The Way signalled a strong influence from Frusciante on the songwriting, which then spilled over to Stadium Arcadium. 29. Pink As Floyd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcP-nC0lWTc Album: I'm With You Sessions (2012-3) Starting beautifully with what sounds like tuning strings to an acoustic strumming, the song steadily builds into a rhythmic mixture of acoustic and electric before turning to a mysterious instrumental section at the three-minute mark before starting its build over again. As track one on the fifth of nine releases, Pink As Floyd marks the middle of the I'm With You Sessions, brilliantly demonstrating what the Chilis do best in rising and falling smoothly, utilising all four band members to their best. 28. She's Only 18
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXTOsigTF0I Album: Stadium Arcadium (2006) Returning to their funk inspirations for the verse, She's Only 18 starts with a catchy drum and bass riff, then joined by Kiedis' singing and Frusciante's guitar riffs to complete until we get to the heavier rock chorus. Kiedis' vocals are complemented by Frusciante's backing vocals as became standard during Frusciante's later years in the band. The lyrics return once more to the cryptic as the song begins to tell the story of an 18 year old girl seemingly telling a man to get active, and then... who knows? Reportedly, though, it is based on Kiedis' then-girlfriend, and mother of his son, Heather Christie. 27. Annie Wants A Baby
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3atkaLPsGE Album: I'm With You (2011) Annie Wants A Baby was one of the many songs featured on I'm With You to prove Josh Klinghoffer's guitar skills in keeping up with Frusciante's legacy within the band. As the first change to the band's line-up in eleven years, Klinghoffer was recruited to the band after touring with them previously and having worked with Frusciante himself that eventually lead to Frusciante's album Shadows Collide With People. Although joining the Chilis as their guitarist, Klinghoffer is a well-renowned multi-instrumentalist, noted to play the guitar, drums, piano, organ, keyboard, synthesiser, bass, banjo, cello, flute, vibraphone, marimba, tuba and accordion. 26. Mellowship Slinky In B Major
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StaAGRWQZaM Album: Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991) Mellowship Slinky In B Major marks Blood Sugar Sex Magik's return to funk-rock, with a beat that's sure to make feet tap from beginning to end. Although transitioning smoothly between them, the song feels like three-in-one with the variations between verse, chorus and instrumental throughout. At the time of release, Blood Sugar Sex Magik was very well reviewed, with some critics saying that they didn't think that the Chilis could ever top it, and it remains the highest-charting album on the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's 2007 list of the Top 200 Albums Of All Time at number 88, beating Californication by four places, although it is beaten by six places on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time by By The Way.
