44. Skyharbor - Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFwYd_52lTs Skyharbor are a testament to what is capable in the connected modern world. How else would a band primarily scattered around India, with an English vocalist ever manage to get off the ground? The brainchild of super producer Keshav Dhar and featuring former TesseracT frontman Dan Tompkins on vocals, BWN:I&C is a modern progressive master piece full of beautiful vocals, intricate riffs, mathematician-bothering time signatures and even a guest guitar solo from Marty Friedman. What more could you want? 43. Tremonti - All I Was
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEEIdcM5npg The debut solo album from the Alter Bridge guitarist cemented three things in the minds of the rock/metal buying public; Mark Tremonti is a killer guitarist, he knows how to write a great song and boy can he sing! This surprising album came out the left field when no one was expecting it and took everyone's breath away. 42. Between The Buried And Me - The Parallax II: Future Sequence
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-lkR9ixsms BTBAM are one of those bands that tread that fine line between musical genius and bat-crap crazy. The Parallax II is by far their most ambitious album to date and has them running their entire gamut of their abilities from light, almost Pink Floyd-style melodies and harmonies right the way through to screaming, schizophrenic progressive death metal insanity. It's well worth a listen even just to experience the lunacy of the band when they're firing on all cylinders.
