5. Nile Rodgers
As previously stated, Get Lucky has reminded us of how much we miss Nile Rodger's distinctive disco-infused sound. Rodger's produced Diana Ross's Upside Down and I'm Coming Out, David Bowie's
Let's Dance, as well as tracks for Debbie Harry, Duran Duran, The B-52s and Grace Jones - firmly establishing himself as one of the industry's most exciting producers. However, recent years have seen his production output slow down due to the producer's battle with cancer. He now mostly appears on guitar or as a featured artist on contemporary tracks like Adam Lambert's
Shady and the aforementioned Daft Punk single. However, Rodgers' sound is still unparalleled - chock full of smooth disco beats and addictive hooks. It would be a dream to see Rodgers' team up with someone with the vocal might and R&B flavour of Mariah Carey, recapturing the magic he produced with Diana Ross. He could also do wonders for a modern boyband seen through his work with Duran Duran on such iconic tracks as The Reflex or Wild Boys. However, we'd be perfectly happy to continue with a similar sound to Get Lucky and keep working with fresh talent like Avicii (which is supposedly on the horizon).
