6 Iconic Music Producers Due For A Comeback

4. Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson

bennybjorn Moving back to carefree dance-pop and sentimental balladry, the return of ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson would be more exciting than the second coming of Christ. Ulvaeus and Andersson have not produced a huge amount of commercial pop (apart from acts like Gemini) outside the world of ABBA, with the pair focusing mainly on their respective Swedish folk music careers. Of course the ABBA back-catalogue is all that is needed to reflect their distinctive skill as pop producers - from upbeat dance-floor favourites like Voulez Vous and Does Your Mother Know to sweeping ballads like Like An Angel Passing Through My Room. It would be a treat to hear the pair return to pop music, whether producing for another artist (ie. Agnetha or Frida) or whether it be a new full blown-ABBA album spectacular - whilst the chance of the latter is virtually non-existent, I'm still holding out a little hope for the first of these. With the Swedish music industry back in the spotlight thanks to this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Ulvaeus and Andersson have been drafted in to produce a track with Avicii which will debut on May 18th - we may have to make do with just that.
