6 Key Things Bullet For My Valentine Need To Do To Save Their Fanbase

3. Write More Songs Like Begging For Mercy and Raising Hell

Bullet For My Valentine 600x300 Anybody who listened to 2009€™s Fever, name the song you go back to most. It€™s Begging for Mercy isn€™t it? Whilst that album is caked in brain-invading melodies you€™ll be humming back to yourself for days to come should you give it a few spins, the Bullet package isn€™t complete without that Poison-esque attitude backing it up. I€™m not one to ask them to keep pushing out the same content over and over, and again in another slight nod to Metallica, maybe these days they€™re just not capable of hitting those lofty heights again. However just this week saw the release of Raising Hell, a one-off single custom-built to appease those of us who despised Temper Temper. Like an advanced targeting system hitting home in the best way possible, there€™s a return to blisteringly-fast guitar solos that feature Tuck and Padge trading-off each other better than a couple of ardent Pokemon collectors. Then there€™s the harsher vocal style that sits nicely in the middle of the song, and the lyrics compliment the overall attitude of the track; they€™re just fun to get involved with and sing along to. It€™s a great admission of sorts of the band replying to Temper Temper€™s fan reception, and hopefully shows that they are capable of twinning the larger more stadium-sized approach to songwriting with the tenacity of their older work.
